Everllence management has initiated an investor process for its site in Deggendorf, Germany, that intents to ensure the future and sustainable development of the location.

The reactor and apparatus business based there has faced economic challenges for some time and they are having a negative impact on the plant’s capacity utilization. For this reason, Everllence launched a package of measures already at the beginning of 2025, which included – among other initiatives – a reduction in manufacturing hours by some 40%, as well as the voluntary, medium-term and socially responsible reduction of around 90 jobs.

Martin Oetjen, Executive Board Member for Production at Everllence, said: “The capacity adjustments at the Deggendorf site have helped stabilize production utilization and reduce cost pressures. Nevertheless, economic challenges in relevant markets persist, especially in the Chinese market and the chemical industry. Targeted, strategic development of this business area will therefore continue to be necessary.”

He added: “The Deggendorf plant possesses a unique competence profile in many respects, both in Germany and Europe, and we are convinced that this potential can be further developed under the right conditions. However, Everllence is increasingly focusing its strategic efforts on overarching growth areas. Against this backdrop, we have decided to seek an investor that will actively drive the site’s strategic development and that has the prerequisites to fully leverage its existing expertise and market potential.”

The company will provide information on the further progress of the investor process in due course.
