Power for your bulker: Everllence B&W two-stroke engines
Our two-stroke engines offer the best solution for the propulsion of all kinds of merchant vessels, including bulk carriers.
Our electronically controlled Everllence B&W ME-C engines offer countless advantages such as optimized fuel and lube oil consumption, as well as improved low-load operation – based on the many decades of success enjoyed by their mechanically controlled predecessors.
The ME-GI is a highly efficient, flexible propulsion solution. With its introduction, we began a new chapter in diesel history, from which your bulker vessel stands to benefit. Thanks to the ME-GI engine, we give vessel owners the option of using either fuel oil or methane – depending on market prices and availability.
The ME-LGIM engine is the world’s first two-stroke dual-fuel methanol engine. It came into service in 2016, and has already reached an impressive track record of running hours on methanol. It is well-suited for the application on bulk carriers, either as newbuilding project, or as retrofit.

B&W ME-C
Our ME-C engines with electronic controls serve up a host of advantages. You can look forward to superior performance parameters, compactness, fully integrated electronic control as well as the necessary fuel injection pressure and rate shaping at any load. Plus, the ME-C engine can be retrofitted for alternative fuels such as methanol, LPG, methane or ethane as well as ammonia estimated for 2026.
- Engine speed: rpm to 56 – 167
- Output: 4,350 – 82,440 kW at L1
B&W ME-GI
The ME-GI engine impresses with extremely lowest methane slip and very high fuel efficiency. It is the most environmentally friendly methane-fuelled engine on the market. By the optional use of fuel oil or LNG/bio-methane/SNG, it represents a highly efficient, flexible, propulsion-plant solution.
- Engine speed: rpm to 56 – 167
- Output: 4,350 – 82,440 kW at L1
Our ME-LGIM is a dual-fuel engine characterized by its high efficiency and capability of operating on methanol. With a proven record of more than 600,000 operating hours on methanol alone, the engine concept provides a high degree of reliability. When fuelled by green methanol, our ME-LGIM engine can offer truly carbon-neutral propulsion, while reducing sulfur and particle matter emissions significantly at the same time.
- Engine speed: 56 – 125 rpm
- Output: 6,950 – 82,440 kW at L1
