Your new role

As a Electrical Engineer at Everllence, you'll work will be to establish and implement short- and long-range electrical maintenance procedures, monitors and evaluates sustainability and effectiveness of O&M power plant operations, and implements changes required for improvement. Leads the team of Electrical Technicians to ensure smooth operations and maintenance procedures.

You will be based at one of our location in Kitengela Nairobi.

Your responsibilities:

  • Responsible for plant maintenance in all respects as per requirements
  • mentioned in O&M contract.
  • Manage all electrical maintenance activities and coordinate and interact with
  • customer/plant manager regarding maintenance planning and implementation.
  • Plan and execute all types of planned and unplanned electrical maintenance
  • jobs as per OEM maintenance schedule including trouble shooting of all
  • electrical systems.
  • Look after all operational and non-operational equipment such as Switch Yard
  • equipment, Generators, all measuring, protection and control devices.
  • Arrange routine inspection and troubleshooting of LV,MV & HV system of plant,
  • switch gears and switch yard.
  • Review, implementation of maintenance SOPs to improve the maintenance
  • quality and efficiency of the plant.
  • Proper preparation / arrangement of tools and spares before and after
  • maintenance.
  • Maintain log books for maintenance activities.
  • Maintain plant planning with respect to parts, spares requirements and
  • execution.
  • Implementation / arrangement of training programs for staff to enhance their
  • knowledge and skills.
  • Conduct maintenance team’s performance appraisal, training, and
  • development.
  • Arrange any needed modification and any new installation to increase plant
  • efficiency and minimize breakdowns.
  •  Attend emergency calls during plant operation.
  • Implement maintenance budget for the electrical department as approved by the
  • management.
  • Improve maintenance methods and procedures.
  • Obtain work permits for all electrical maintenance activities.
  • Cooperate with other managers for power plant maintenance, reporting, effectiveness  and efficient use of resources.

Preferred qualifications

  • B.Sc. Electrical Engineer
  • Work experience in a power plant using reciprocating heavy-duty engine technologies
  • Have previously worked in a multinational company
  • Experience in the power or other heavy duty sector i.e. cement plant, ship yard or similar
  • 5 years plus of work experience in a technical installation.
  • Strong organization knowledge.
  • Daily Task Management.
  • High-level communication skills in English, verbal & written
  • Computer savvy
  • Worked with Computerized Maintenance

Process Business is responsible for supporting the efficient execution of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities at the Triumph Power Plant through the management of business processes, logistics, inventory control, ERP administration, and continuous process improvement.

The role acts as a key link between plant operations, maintenance, supply chain, and corporate digitalization initiatives, ensuring process standardization, data integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with contractual and company requirements.

We can offer you the following tasks:

  • Monitor and control warehouse operations to ensure efficient storage, preservation, and issuance of materials.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for the procurement, receipt, storage, issuance, and consumption of materials and equipment.
  • Act as the primary ERP System Super User for Logistics, Maintenance, and Operations modules.
  • Provide first-line support and guidance to users across all Everllence O&M sites.
  • Deliver end-user training and maintain training materials and user documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and digitalization.
  • Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to inventory, logistics, maintenance, and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations related to inventory and asset management.
  • Support corporate Business Intelligence initiatives and reporting standardization across O&M contracts.  

 

You can help us with these qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Business Administration principles and practices.
  • Understanding of inventory control methodologies and asset management practices.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP processes related to logistics, maintenance, and operations.
  • Advanced user of SharePoint and document management systems.
  • Knowledge of Power BI and business intelligence tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multicultural and cross-functional teams.

Location overview

Everllence in Kenya

With offices in Nairobi and Mombasa, Everllence Kenya combines administrative coordination, spare parts logistics, and advanced technical services positioning us to support both inland power operations and coastal marine clients across East Africa.

Nairobi

Our Nairobi office serves as the core site for power plant O&M coordination, parts logistics, and administration, as well as our sales centre for new marine and steam turbines businesses. The site offers a collaborative office culture with wellness programs and team-building initiatives.

Mombasa

In Mombasa, we operate a technical service workshop with capabilities including rotor balancing, surface blasting, and marine support. The office serves as our aftersales office for EOM and Omnicare spare parts and services. Its proximity to key shipping routes makes it a strategic hub for servicing marine and energy clients along the East African coast.

Triumph Power Plant

Located within the Export Processing Zone in Athi River Township, Machakos County, the Triumph Power Plant serves as the operational hub of Everllence (Kenya) Limited. With a generation capacity of up to 83 MW, the facility plays a critical role in supporting Kenya’s national grid under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Kenya Power and Lighting Company. The plant utilizes heavy fuel oil as its primary energy source and is equipped with ten Himsen engines and one steam turbine, operating under a Combined Cycle Internal Combustion Plant (CCICP) configuration. This site hosts the majority of Everllence (Kenya) staff and anchors the company’s core business activities, reflecting its strategic importance in Kenya’s energy sector.
