Our main activities include:

We are on the hunt for an experienced Field Service Engineer—the rare species who can diagnose a 2‑stroke engine by ear, fix it with one hand, and still find time for a coffee, and all of that wile displaying the highest level of safety standards. If you know your pistons from your ports, don’t panic when things get smoky or noisy, and consider airports, workshops, and the occasional “while-you’re-here” request just part of the adventure, we want you. Bonus points if you enjoy solving mechanical mysteries and can explain them without using interpretive dance.

 

Reporting to the Manager PrimeServ and working within you Auckland team, you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Overhauling 2‑stroke diesel engines and associated equipment at domestic and overseas sites, involving frequent travel.
  • Customer service, including responding to customer inquiries regarding Everllence products.
  • Efficient collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Servicing, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning of Everllence products as required.
  • Understanding and applying technical documentation, including Everllence service manuals and manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Complying with manufacturers’ maintenance and service instructions, and service manuals at all times.
  • Ensuring all service jobs are planned and controlled to meet budgeted costs, with additional work accurately claimed.
  • Submitting detailed job, service, and site visit reports, along with required documentation such as timesheets and expense claims, in a timely manner in accordance with company requirements.
  • Preparing tenders and quotations for service or installation work for Everllence or OEM products in consultation with the Technical Service Manager.
  • Liaising with the Engine Sales Department regarding customer product inquiries.
  • Gathering information on competitors’ products, activities, and pricing for services or parts.
  • Participating in sales and marketing activities for PrimeServ.
  • Signing tender quotations, contract acceptances, and contract purchases in accordance with the Staff Authority Approval sheet.
  • Reporting injuries, hazards, near misses, and accidents or incidents in a timely manner and assisting with incident investigations.

 

Selection Criteria

  • To be considered for this role, you will need: 
  • Safety oriented.
  • Hands-on 2-stroke and broad diesel engine experience.
  • Suitable engineering degree or Trade Certificate and/or equivalent work experience in same or similar role.
  • Be eligible to obtain suitable work visa for New Zealand and later permanent residency visa.
  • Exceptional English language verbal and written skills, and communications skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and internal stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to create team spirit, supportive of colleagues.
  • Efficient Time Management skills including meeting deadlines.
  • Working independently and within a team.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Can-do and problem-solving attitude, ability to think outside the box.

As the Sales Engineer – Omnicare, you will have the autonomy and influence to shape the growth of our aftersales business across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, working closely within New Zealand small but passionate and agile team.

Reporting to the Managing Director and working within our small, but dedicated sales New Zealand team, you will be responsible for the following:

 

Working within a small Power team and reporting to the Head of Sales, Australia & Oceania, you will be responsible for: 

  • Conducting market and product analysis, identifying aftersales and associated service opportunities in close cooperation with key stakeholders.
  • Developing a strategic plan and executing the strategy for Omnicare product opportunities.
  • Liaising with Sales Engineers/Managers and service branches for customer contact.
  • Preparing tenders and quotations, and managing these opportunities through to contract closure in alignment with the Integrated Management System.
  • CRM maintenance and administration.
  • Sales management reporting of KPIs.
  • Developing and implementing account management for aftersales Omnicare products.
  • Promoting and presenting Everllence at sales and marketing forums and seminars.
  • Planning site visit programs aligned to the sales strategy to promote and secure Everllence product and services sales.
  • Participating in regular sales review meetings and any other meetings as required.
  • Keeping the Managing Director informed of the significant aspects of day-to-day activities.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and the highest standard of product support to customers.
  • Obtaining and analysing information about competitors’ activities and reporting on it.
  • Maintaining technical competencies and product knowledge.
  • As required, attending training and delivering on-the-job training to other staff.
  • Other duties as directed.

 

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

  • Be eligible to obtain suitable work visa for New Zealand and later permanent residency visa.
  • Exceptional English language verbal and written skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service and internal stakeholder management skills.
  • Safety oriented.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in same/similar role.
  • Professional engineering qualification in a relevant field.
  • Hands on experience with preparing tenders and quotations.
  • Understanding contract management principles.
  • People person, ability to create and maintain effective business relationships at all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to stay calm and focused when under pressure, e.g. meeting deadlines, dealing with demanding customers, effectively addressing urgent requirements.
  • Time management skills, attention to detail.
  • Can-do attitude, self-starter, flexible and adaptable.
  • Understanding of service-based business operations.
  • Microsoft Office and Excel; CRM.
  • Travelling domestically and overseas.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check and pre-employment medical assessment.
