Everllence delivers compressor technology for Lithuania’s gas transmission network

Everllence to supply electrically-driven MOPICO® system for the Jauniunai gas transport station in Lithuania

Everllence has signed a contract with leading European EPC contractor MT Group for the delivery of a 5 MW hermetically sealed MOPICO® (Motor Pipeline Compressor) system with integrated magnetic bearing technology. The compressor will be installed at the Jauniunai station in Lithuania and operated by AB Amber Grid, the country’s national gas transmission system operator.

Lithuania’s gas transmission network serves as a regional corridor for gas transport between Latvia and Poland. To ensure the transport of large gas volumes over long distances, compressors need to increase the pressure in the pipeline every 150 to 250 kilometers. The new MOPICO® unit for Jauniunai will compress natural gas to around 53 bar, thereby increasing transmission capacity while operating on renewable electricity and ensuring zero direct CO₂ emissions during operation.

The MOPICO® compressor for Jauniunai is directly driven by an Everllence high-speed electric motor and supported by MECOS active magnetic bearings. The design eliminates the need for dry gas seals and lubrication systems, contributing to higher reliability and reduced lifecycle costs.

Design, manufacturing and testing are carried out at Everllence in Zurich, Switzerland.
